I had two recent requests for large - very large - Ginger Snips blankets for dog and cat moms to throw over their sofas.

What a great idea! I was happy to design and make some large sofa throw type blankets to specs that matched the decor in my clients’ rooms. It occurs to me that one can order a custom blanket to throw over their bed, as well, if their pets like to spend the day lounging in their parents’ beds!

A Ginger Snips Very Large Pet Blanket might be just what you need to protect your sofa, couch, love seat, club chairs or day beds from dog dirt and hair. :)

You simply leave the blankets on the sofa (or whatever)…and when guests come over - viola! Pull off the blanket and have clean, hair-free seating to offer. :)

The blanket will also be pretty enough to leave on your furniture for your daily use as well.

Simply tell me what colors you like and what kind of decor you have and I will work with you to design the right Ginger Snips Very Large Pet Blanket for you and your family!

mollee is under the weatherI just created some new blanket designs and will add the photos here soon. In the meantime, one of our blanket testers is taking some sick days.

Mollee is under the weather right now; she’s gotten me up in the middle of the last two nights needing to go poo….very runny poo…..eeeew. As it’s a messy bug, our tester is no longer permitted to “test drive” Ginger Snips Dog Blankets. Not until she gets better, that is!

Monte (our older, more experienced blanket tester) had this problem once and the vet told me to get some pepto bismo down him. BTW, pepto bismo does not wash out of a maltese’s white fur, it has to grow out. Just so you know.

Last night I tried to get Mollee take some Pepto Bismo - I tried putting it on the end of my finger and have her lick it off…nope…tried mixing it with cool whip….nope…I finally found a craft syringe, filled it and shot it down her little gullet.

Now heres the deal, she tries to eat rocks, dead leaves, fabric, wood, but not pepto bismo….why? Do they inherently know that it’s medicine?

Anyway, in the meantime, only Monte will be testing the dog blankets for a while. :)

My latest Ginger Snips creation is a large size dog blanket for large sized dogs. This can be used on the floor as a soft place to lay, or thrown over a couch or comfy chair - where ever your dog likes to sleep.

The blanket has a smooth dog themed fabric on one side and a fuzzy repurposed chenille on the other, so you can decide which look or feel your pet prefers - perhaps the chenille side for the winter? A lovely soft fringe sets off the look.

See my Smilebox pictures of this new dog blanket design here! I hope you enjoy my soft musical selection as well.

Also featured is a blue dog-themed, fully fleece blanket in two sizes.

And enjoy the last very photo, which is of Monte and Mollee, our official blanket testers!

My two Maltese dogs, as fully involved employees (actually, owners) of Kids in Fur Coats told me to make room on my website for their very own blog. Since I’d be lost without their field-testing and encouragement, I hastened to do their bidding.

So, Monte and Mollee sit now sit at my computer (while I slave away sewing in the craft room) and write about their lives, and the trials/tribulations/etc of being dogs. Poor them. It must be so hard to be completely pampered pooches in Southern California. :)

Their posts are found here, in the Monte and Mollee Blog archive.
